Murdering The Murderer
Sickened,
Saddened,
Horrified,
The Gaudy Spectacle
The careful preparations
Meticulous Detail
Exalted Tributes
Buzzing Reporters
Sell the Grief
Sell it - Sell it
Message - Message
Demonstrators clown for cameras
Is he dead?
Is he dead, yet?
Isn't he dead, yet?
Die Timmy, Die
Cry Timmy, Cry
Murder is Wrong
The murderer must pay
Kill the murderer
Murder the murderer
It's the right thing to do
It's the right of the victim
Remember the children?
Remember the dead?
The dead will rest better now
The living will rest
With a Murder
On their Souls
Die Timmy, Die
The World watches in Shame
As the barbarians
Direct the show
At 9:02
He made his statement
"We will observe 168 moments of silence
As we administer death," the face of TV said
Ladies and Gentlemen
Children of all ages
The Department of Justice proudly presents
The Greatest Show On Earth!
"Revenge," the madman cried
Is it cruel and unusual?
Punishment?
Is there anything more hateful?
Or cruel?
Than taking away a persons life?
Is the States' Ritualistic Heinous Murder of a Man
A Usual Occurrence?
It will be!
IT WILL BE!
IT WILL BE!

Red Core, The Difference
"Do see this fine thing?
Do you admire the humanity of it?
Because the Human Beings, my son, they believe everything is alive.
Not only man and animals, but also water, earth, stone. And also the things from them, like that hair.
The man from this hair came he is bald on the other side.
Because I now own his scalp.
That is the way things are!
But the white man they believe everything is dead.
Stone, earth, animals and people. Even their own people. If things keep try to live white man will rub them out.
That is the difference."
Those are the words and voice of Chief Dan George spoken from his heart,
his soul,
his Red Core
He spoke those words in the movie Little Big Man.
He was also speaking from a time.
A time near the end of the only life
The Human Beings had known.
A tradition of living,
As one with all of nature
Was about to be rubbed out.
The Human Beings could not remember a time
When life had been different.
But this was a new time.
A new enemy.
An enemy possessed of unprecidented weaponry.
An enemy whose numbers counted greater than the blades of grass on the Dakota plains.
An enemy whose ruthlessness had never before been witnessed.
An enemy that held in contempt the inherent spirit of the Human Beings; that one must live as one with nature, with humble respect to all. Even enemies.
An enemy who considered the Human Beings as savages.
An enemy who didn't know where the center of the universe was.
An enemy that didn't even respect himself
Or anything at all.
But you see, Chief Dan George is holding a scalp of hair.
He is showing it to Little Big Man
He is laughing because the wasichu had lost the battle and his scalp...
This man who never knew where the center of the universe was.
Who killed
Not only for food
Not just to feed his own.
This man killed to quench a crazy appetite for death.
This man who treated everything with smug contempt.
This man was bald on the other side.
And don't you know how foolish he must look?
And don't you know
How much more foolish
He looked when he was still on this side?
THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE! The Red Core

The Airport Lounge
08:10

The Airport Lounge
Typical crowd in the airport lounge,
A wide variety of folks
Many with small phones
Growing out of their hands
Only the waiter seems interested
In the baseball game
Snailing across the TV.
Two young chaps swap tales of
The Road.
A chubby, tow-headed buck
Is conducting intense
Business dealings on his
Cellular appendage.
He's chain-calling
Like a smoker lighting one butt
Off from another
As he terminates one call
He frantically speed-dials another.
A late-40's couple pulls up
To a near table
They must not be very successful
They only have beepers
How 80's?
I momentarily feel superior
because I have a cell phone
And I'm cool enough
To leave the phone in my truck
I quickly regain humbly
When I recall that I live
In Goober County, Florida
And I drive a pickup truck
A Ford truck.
I remembered that I had nearly
Had sex with several cousins
When I was an early teen.
And.... Shit.
Ooo - Nice looking passenger enters airside
Ok, so I'm back.
Tight young thing with a plaid cap
at the bar Stands
She could be a tennis player
If she didn't drink & smoke
The beeper guy is back talkin'
'bout his aging momma
and her innards. It's
pretty obvious that her main joy
is that she has lived a long
life and now she gets to die
Her problem is that she has doctors
who insist that she live longer than
Intended no matter how miserable
That existence may be.
Witness the pinnacle of
Arrogance - The Western Physician Slash God.
Ash's plane is delayed (Cool)
The red wine tastes fine
Always been a friend of mine.
Plaid-hat girl is back
Her flight has been delayed too
Hurricane season in Tampa
Staccato Cuban spoken behind me
What a rich world it is
"Beeperman" just asked a deep philosophic real estate question
"Would you rather be the first person in Florida
Or the number Two in the Southeast?"
How do they sleep at night
with such weighty issues
hanging...
With that it's flight time
And they have to leave. Seems
They weren't a couple after all
Too bad they had to leave
Another drink and he'd be
Nailing her a mile high
She was showing all the signs
She was diggin' his stuff
He'll nail her soon
Life on the road.
Fucking Baseball game is still
Snailin'
Plaid hat girl has huge eyes
Dark eyes.
She turned and for a
Moment stared directly into
My
Gray hair.
Oh, she just turned Again & smiled
She Caught my Appreciation.
But she's got a daddy with a
Cellular appendage
Damn I shoulda brought my
Cellular appendage down with me.
Does anyone on the planet
give two shits about this
Baseball game.
Oh-Oh better be quiet
They might change it to
Golf - Fucking Golf
Checked on Ash's flight
Another 5 minutes -- 8:25
After thinking about golf
I had to see & hold my dick
don't ask why
End of the 3rd
They've been playing this
fucking baseball game since
Dawn and it's the end of the 3rd
Fucking Inning.
Whooopeeee
Out with the old plaid-hat girl
In with a new trio
Oh, my
A tall blonde, Thin, Pretty, Pert.
A short, Brunette
With a beautiful smile and
Oh so tightly packed
And then
There's Ms. Bombastic
Kinky brunette hair, olive tan skin,
Proud orbital breasts
fucking Meow.
It.
The Idiot-Comedy called Baseball
continues to broadcast
they just spent 15 seconds
Showing a Player chewing
his fingernails and spitting them out.
Now, if I'm receiving this
Transmission from another planet
I've got to scratch Earth
From my list of fun Vacation
spots in the Galaxy.
I should have brought my
Fucking camera. Jesus Christ.
The Structure,
Celesestine, the Vulgarian, the man
Who tried to shock the world
To his point of View.
This must be Ash's flight
If he hurries he can hit last call

Train

Train
I hear the distant, mournful
Wail of a train.
Sounding a warning
Announcing its passing
It is a most beautiful sound
The patter
of Tropical rain
landing on an aluminum roof.
Go train, go.
Go rain, go.
Entertain me for a while.
Crash, Kawomp
Thunder heralds the approach
Of magical lightening
Wind pushes the branches
Of resilient trees
Palms and Oaks and Pines
Each bending and swaying
To their own truth
And then
Calm
Briefly
A pause between
The Overture
And the Symphony
The noise of a jet is heard
Sneaking to find his seat
Before the curtain is raised
If only there were no cars
The noisy bastards
Massive clouds swirl
In a counterclockwise motion
It is hurricane season
The best time of year
To live in the Tropics

Underwater

Underwater
A life underwater
Immersed in the womb
Of the Earth.
Floating effortlessly with the current
Following Natures circle of death
And life and death and birth
And death and rebirth.
Thrust along by liquid life
Soaring over mountains and valleys
Bobbing and weaving
Laughing with the grinning shark.
Mocking the barracuda.
Fear unknown.
Anxiety unimagined
I am one
I am the shark
I am the barracuda
I am the water.

Death of the Nations
11:25
|
|||
Death of the Nations
The death of the nations
Came finally
After a long and arduous journey
Many lives were wasted
Along the way
Many souls were incinerated
In defense of flags
In defense of an ideal
That was not worthy
Of a second of consideration
In support of altruistic self-sacrifice
A pitiable squandering of spirit and soul
The death didn't come easy
The Nations would not die easily
For without the Nations
The Leaders
Would have nothing to lead
Nothing to lead!
Nobody to subjugate!
Power
Would slip from their hands
And the Leaders would find death
As their only recourse
The Leaders
Who steered the ark of mankind
On a devastating path
Away from true spirituality
Away from self-actualisation
Away from self-awareness
Away from self-realisation
Disconnecting all
From the Oceans
From the Mountains
From the Forests
From the Sky
From the Stars
From the Moon
From the Earth
From the Galaxy
And the Universe
In pursuit of Things
The Leaders had said,
"Things will make you happy
You must have things to be happy
You can have enough things to be happy
Happiness?
Denied!
You don't have all of the things
Thus, happiness cannot be yours
Happiness can never be yours
But you must try
You must achieve
You must sacrifice yourself
For the Things
Of all
Particularly,
Things for the Leaders
The wise and knowledgeable Leaders.
For without the Leaders
You are nothing.
You cannot survive.
You cannot make it on your own.
You are too frail and feeble a creature
To make it on your own
You need the Leaders
You need the Nation
Bow down to the Leaders
The Leaders are great
The Leaders are your only chance
For survival
Pledge allegiance
To the Nations
And the Leaders
Will allow you to survive
The Leaders
Will allow you to breathe
The Leaders
Will give you Things
Great Things
Things that will make you happy
Briefly
The Leaders require that
Many of you must make
The ultimate sacrifice
You must lay down your life
To promote the Nations
To promote the Leaders
Even though
The Leaders are Wise
And Knowledgeable,
The Leaders can find
No peaceful resolution
To the conflict
Over the Things
Things that will make you happy
Things that you must want
Things that you must crave
Things that you must possess
To be happy,
Briefly
It is the Price
The Price of Things
Die
So that the Leaders may have Things
So that the Leaders may have Power
You cannot survive without the Leaders
Or the Things
Look not inside yourself
It's too scary in there
It's scary inside of you
You musn't go there
Open not
The Doors to your soul
Seek not
The Light within
The Light is Evil
The Light knows not
Of Things
The Light cares not
For Things
The Light is Evil"
The Leaders feared the Light
Lightness could eliminate
Dependence on the Leaders
Dependence on the Nations
Lightness would illuminate
The Spirit within
Lightness was Evil
The Death of the Nations
Began innocently enough
With the burst of technology
In the waning days of the Century
At first, the Leaders loved the new technology
Many new Things were generated by the new technology
Though they were Wise and knowledgeable
The Leaders failed to perceive
The danger to Nations and Power
That the new technology brought
They failed to recognise
The dangers of allowing
The drones of the Nations
To communicate across the boundaries of Nations
Soon the drones realised
That the drones of other Nations
Were much like themselves
That they were not evil empires
But simply lost souls
Blindly following the Leaders
As lemmings
Toward the chasm
Drones began to question the validity
Of the teachings of the Leaders
Of the quest for Things
At the sacrifice of their souls
And their lives
Music began to take over as the universal language
That bound all drones
To their creator
To the Lightness within themselves
Too late, Too late
The Leaders realised the threat
To their Power
To the ideals that provided the Power
To the Things
By that time
The war was over
The Leaders had lost
The drones had already found
The Lightness within
The drones discovered
That within them
God existed
That they were the God
Of their own universe
That as God
They had the Power
To survive without the Things
Without the Leaders
Without the Nations
And then,
The drones systematically
Disassembled
Disemboweled
The Nations
The drones became One
One within themselves
One with the Oceans
One with the Mountains
One with the Forests
One with the Sky
One with the Stars
One with the Moon
One with the Earth
One with the Galaxy
One with the Universe.
That is when the Leaders died
And all mankind
Celebrated the orgy that was
The Death of the Nations.

Opening Acts

Opening Acts
Being the opening act is tough.
The people didn't come to see you.
They are impatient to see the main act.
The soundman is not going to let you sound better than the main act (referred to as a dirty mix in the biz, though all involved will deny that it happens).
And if you do outshine the opening act you will be removed from the tour.
Unless, the main acts manager is about to dump the main act and begin managing you. It is the naked truth of concert touring.
Example: In 1971 I was the keyboard player for Yesterday's Children, a 9-piece horn band ala Blood, Sweat, and Tears.
We were playing Iowa City stadium before about 20,000+ fans of Rare Earth.
The crowd loved us.
We did a few Tower of Power tunes and the crowd was ours.
They were pumped.
They were excited to see Rare Earth.
And then our lead singer launched us into one of our stock covers Get Ready, which was originally recorded by the Temptations.
It didn't occur to our singer at that moment that Rare Earth had also released the song and it was one of their big hits.
Can you imagine how hot the RE folks got when we played their tune?
We were immediately and unceremoniously dropped from the tour.
The fact of the matter was our take on the song blew Rare Earth's version away, which was truly the wrong approach.
We shouldn't have played the song, but then I wouldn't have this story.
